Description
The Havak Pro Hunter 3 is built around competitive precision rifle shooting, particularly the NRL Hunter format, where shooters regularly engage targets from field positions at varied distances under time pressure. It suits the competitor who wants a purpose-designed platform rather than a hunting rifle pressed into match service.
The action uses a three-lug bolt with a 60-degree throw, which shortens the arc your hand travels between shots compared to a traditional 90-degree two-lug design. That matters when you are working a bolt quickly from a barricade or prone position and need the bolt handle to clear your scope without repositioning your hand. The bolt disassembles without tools, which simplifies field cleaning and makes swapping components between calibers straightforward.
The 1-in-8-inch twist rate is well suited to the heavier, high-BC projectiles that 6mm Creedmoor handloaders and match shooters tend to favor — bullets in the 103- to 115-grain range stabilize reliably at that rate. Lighter varmint-weight bullets will also work, but this rifle is clearly optimized for long-range match and hunting loads, not the light end of the 6mm spectrum.
The barrel is fluted and threaded, reducing weight along the tube while retaining surface area for heat dissipation during strings of fire. An integrated 20 MOA Picatinny rail is machined directly into the action, providing the forward cant needed to use a standard-range scope at extended distances without running out of elevation adjustment. The full-length M-LOK rail along the stock gives you mounting options for barricade stops and other positional accessories that NRL Hunter stages frequently demand. The adjustable cheek piece lets you set a consistent weld regardless of optic height. The stock is finished in Glacier Shadow.
