Seekins Precision scope rings are built for shooters who need a repeatable, zero-return mount on a precision rifle and have no interest in guessing whether their rings are in spec. Each pair is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum — a structural alloy chosen for its strength-to-weight ratio — and serialized so the two halves stay matched from production through the life of the mount. The machining tolerances are held tightly enough that lapping is unnecessary; the bore of the ring is correct as delivered, which matters because lapping removes material and can introduce inconsistencies if done unevenly.
The extra-high configuration provides clearance for large objective lenses or scopes with pronounced objective bell housings on flat-rail platforms without tilting the optic out of alignment. The ring cap is 0.8 inches wide with four cap screws, spreading clamping force across a broader section of the tube than narrower two-screw designs — a practical advantage for heavy recoiling cartridges where scope tube flex under clamp pressure can cause zero shift over time.
The base attaches to any 1913 Picatinny rail via a recoil lug machined directly into the ring body rather than relying on a cross-bolt. A machined integral lug sits flush in the Picatinny slot with minimal lateral play, resisting fore-aft movement without depending on rail clamping pressure alone. Transitions between surfaces are radiused rather than sharp, so the rings clear soft cases and drag bags without snagging. The matte black finish keeps surface reflections in check in field conditions. For a 35mm tube optic on a Picatinny-railed chassis or rifle, these rings represent a straightforward, no-modification solution.
