Description

The Shield Arms Magwell for the Glock 43X and 48 addresses one of the few ergonomic shortcomings of those otherwise capable compact pistols: the absence of any funnel geometry at the magazine opening. On a stock 43X or 48, the shooter has to guide a magazine into a plain rectangular opening, which costs time and introduces uncertainty under stress. This magwell adds a beveled funnel that guides the magazine through the last inch of travel without requiring the shooter to finesse the angle.

It is machined from billet aluminum and finished in a Type 2 anodize in Shield Arms’ grey — a process that hardens the surface at the molecular level rather than simply coating it, so it resists wear without adding meaningful bulk. The profile is deliberately low, which matters on a pistol sized for concealed carry; a magwell that extends significantly below the grip frame can complicate re-holstering and alter how the gun prints under a cover garment. Shield Arms kept the geometry close to the original grip outline to avoid those trade-offs.

The magwell is contoured specifically to work with Shield Arms’ S15 magazine and S15 +0 baseplate, which together bring the 43X and 48 to a higher round count than the standard Glock magazine.
