Description

The Shield Arms +5 Magazine Extension is built for Springfield Echelon shooters who want meaningful capacity without swapping to a completely different magazine platform. It attaches to OEM Springfield Echelon magazines only, so fit is consistent and reliable rather than an afterthought.

The extension is machined from billet 6061 aluminum and finished with a Type 2 anodize, which hardens the surface against abrasion while keeping the part light. The black anodized finish matches the ECH-ME-5-BLK designation — this is not a painted or dipped coating. Index cuts are machined into the body of the extension to give you purchase when stripping the magazine from a pouch under load, where smooth surfaces become a liability.

The floor plate design is worth noting: it allows access to the spring and follower for cleaning and servicing without first removing the extension from the magazine body. That matters during routine maintenance, because dissassembly steps that can be skipped are steps that introduce reassembly errors. No additional spring is required to run this extension at the added capacity.

The extension adds five rounds to the Echelon’s standard 17-round magazine, bringing total capacity to 22 rounds. It is USPSA compliant at 141.25 mm overall and is manufactured in the USA. Shield Arms backs it with a 100% lifetime warranty.
