Description

The Shield Arms Premium S15 Steel Mag Catch is built for left-handed Glock 43X and Glock 48 shooters who run Shield Arms S15 steel magazines and want a cleaner, more consistent reload. It is not ambidextrous — that is a deliberate design choice. By committing to a single hand orientation, Shield Arms was able to remove the hard angles on the underside of the catch that can catch the magazine on its way in, a friction point that shows up most when speed matters.

Compared to the Shield Arms Standard Mag Catch, this Premium version extends the engagement face by approximately 0.03 inches, giving the magazine notch slightly more material to seat against. That added engagement translates to a more positive lock-up and reduces the chance of an unintended release under recoil or during a compressed reload. The knurling runs longer than on the standard catch — extended by 1/32 inch — which gives the thumb a better purchase when releasing the magazine, particularly with a gloved hand or in a compressed grip.

One practical note: this catch is engineered around the geometry of Shield Arms S15 steel magazines and does not function with the factory plastic OEM Glock magazines. If you are running the OEM polymer magazines, this part is not compatible. If you have already made the switch to S15s, this catch tightens up the interface between the magazine and the frame.
