Description
Sig Sauer’s Elite Performance Match Grade ammunition in .300 Winchester Magnum is built for long-range precision work, whether that means competitive high-power shooting or extended-range hunting where consistent terminal performance matters. The projectile is a Sierra MatchKing Open Tip Match bullet — a design that Sierra has refined specifically for accuracy, not for terminal expansion. The hollow tip exists as a manufacturing artifact of the drawing process rather than a hunting feature, which is why this load belongs at the range or in a precision role where shot-to-shot consistency is the priority.
At 190 grains, the bullet sits on the heavier end of what .300 Win Mag is commonly loaded to, and that weight trades some additional velocity for a higher ballistic coefficient. In practical terms, the projectile resists wind deflection and retains velocity better at distance compared to lighter loads in the same cartridge — a meaningful advantage when shooting past 500 yards. Muzzle velocity runs at 2,850 feet per second, generating substantial downrange energy that keeps the bullet supersonic well beyond typical anderstood engagement distances for this caliber.
The propellant is temperature-stable, which matters in field conditions where temperature swings between a cold early morning and midday heat can shift pressure and, consequently, point of impact. The brass cases are nickel-plated, which aids in feeding and extraction reliability and makes headstamp identification straightforward in low light. Cases are Boxer-primed and reloadable, so handloaders working up precision loads can use fired brass as a starting point. Each box contains 20 rounds, and cases are packed 10 boxes to the case.
