SIG AMMO 308WIN 168GR OTM 20/200

Description

Sig Sauer’s Elite Performance line exists for shooters who need consistent, repeatable accuracy from a precision rifle round — whether that means long-range target work or demanding field use. This .308 Winchester load is built around a 168-grain Open Tip Match projectile, a bullet profile developed specifically for accuracy at distance. The open tip design is a manufacturing artifact of the bullet-making process that produces a more uniform, concentric jacket than a conventional lead-core round nose, which translates directly to reduced in-flight deviation and tighter groupings downrange.

At 168 grains, this projectile sits in a well-established sweet spot for .308 match shooting. It carries enough sectional density to resist wind drift effectively out to several hundred yards while remaining subsonic at ranges where heavier projectiles begin to lose their ballistic advantage in standard barrels. Brass-cased and centerfire-primed, this ammunition is loaded to match-grade consistency standards, meaning charge weight and seating depth tolerances are held tighter than general-purpose commercial ammunition — the kind of uniformity that matters when your group size is being measured in fractions of an inch rather than acceptable mechanical function.

Sig Sauer chambers this round under their Elite Performance designation, applying the same propellant quality control to rifle loads that they use across their defensive ammunition line. For a shooter running a precision bolt gun or a semi-automatic platform dialed in for accuracy work, that consistency in pressure curve and velocity spread is what separates ammunition that shoots well once from ammunition you can rely on shot to shot.
