Description
The M18 is the commercial release of the compact service pistol adopted by the U.S. military across all branches, built on SIG’s P320 Carry platform. It is a natural fit for anyone who wants a duty-capable pistol with direct lineage to a fielded military sidearm, or who simply prefers the more concealable carry-length frame over the full-size M17.
The striker-fired action uses the same MHS-pattern slide configuration found on the military variant, finished in Coyote PVD — a physical vapor deposition process that bonds the finish to the metal at a molecular level rather than sitting on top as a coating, giving it meaningful resistance to wear and corrosion over hard use. The grip module matches the slide in Coyote tan and is the standard carry-medium size, which positions the hand higher relative to the bore than a traditional frame design, helping keep muzzle rise in check shot to shot.
The slide is optic-ready with the Deltapoint Pro footprint and is directly compatible with SIG’s ROMEO-M17 red dot, so mounting a dot requires no gunsmithing or adapter plates. The rear sight uses a removable night sight plate in place of a fixed rear, which is the trade-off that makes the optic cut possible — the plate comes off cleanly when you mount an optic rather than forcing you to work around a permanently installed rear sight. SIGLITE night sights are fitted at the factory, so the pistol is fully usable out of the box without an optic. An ambidextrous manual safety and shielded ambidextrous slide catch lever complete the MHS-specification controls. The M1913 Picatinny rail forward of the trigger guard accommodates standard weapon lights and lasers.
