Description

The P211 GT5 is Sig Sauer’s competition- and serious-training-oriented pistol, built on a steel-frame 1911-style platform scaled for double-stack capacity. It is aimed at shooters who want a full-size, metal-frame gun with a match-grade trigger feel and the flexibility to mount an optic without modification.

The single-action-only trigger is the centerpiece of that competition intent. Because the hammer must be manually cocked or carried cocked-and-locked, there is no double-action pull to manage, and the break is consistent from the first shot to the last — a meaningful advantage when splits and stage times matter. The manual safety is the mechanism that makes cocked-and-locked carry viable, and its presence here reflects the 1911 heritage of the design.

Sig cut the slide to the SIG-LOC PRO interface, a proprietary mounting footprint designed to reduce the tolerance stack that can cause optic shift over time. Running a co-witness sight picture with the included tritium night sights is straightforward; the front sight is an XRAY3-style high-visibility unit, and tritium vials mean the sight picture holds in low light whether or not you have a red dot mounted.

The 5-inch bull barrel adds mass at the muzzle, which damps felt recoil and reduces muzzle rise during rapid strings — both relevant for a gun being run at speed. The frame includes a 1913 Picatinny accessory rail on the dust cover, so duty-grade lights mount without adapters. Three 10-round magazines are included.
