Description
The P226 Scorpion is Sig Sauer’s answer to a specific kind of shooter: someone who wants a full-size duty pistol but prefers it to arrive ready for serious use rather than requiring an immediate trip to the aftermarket. Built on the P226 platform that has served military and law enforcement for decades, the Scorpion version layers on ergonomic and finish upgrades that address the most common complaints about the standard model.
The double-action/single-action trigger system defines how this pistol handles across different conditions. The first shot from a decocked hammer requires a longer, heavier pull, which provides a deliberate resistance against unintended discharge. Subsequent shots fire in single-action, with a shorter and lighter break, giving the shooter more precision control during a follow-up string. The decocker lets you return to that safer carried condition without manually lowering the hammer, which matters when the pistol is going back into a holster.
SIGLITE night sights are factory-fitted tritium units, meaning they glow in low-light conditions without batteries or activation — a practical advantage over iron sights that depend entirely on ambient light. The Flat Dark Earth finish gives the pistol a corrosion-resistant exterior that also makes it easier to see and clear foreign material on the surface compared to a blued finish.
Two magazines are included. The 4.4-inch barrel sits in full-size frame geometry, which distributes mass in a way that softens the perceived recoil impulse and gives the sight radius enough length to support accurate shots at practical defensive distances. This is a pistol for the shooter who treats their carry or duty gun as a system and wants that system dialed in from the factory.
