Description
The P226 X-Five Classic is built for competitive shooting and serious target work. It is a single-action-only pistol, which means the trigger has one job: break the shot. There is no double-action pull to contend with, so the trigger feel is consistent from the first round to the last, and the fully adjustable AX3 system lets a shooter dial in pre-travel and overtravel to match their technique rather than adapting to a factory compromise.
The five-inch bull barrel contributes to that consistency in two ways: the added mass damps the recoil impulse, and the longer sight radius gives the fiber optic front and adjustable rear sights more separation, making precise alignment easier to achieve and repeat. The adjustable rear sight also lifts out entirely to allow direct optic mounting via the SIG-LOC footprint on the slide, so the pistol can be configured either way without permanent modification.
The stainless steel frame and slide add meaningful weight over an alloy-framed pistol, which keeps the muzzle from climbing as aggressively during rapid strings. Custom Hogue Cocobolo grips with an alloy magwell give the gun a premium look while serving a practical purpose: the magwell funnel speeds reloads under pressure. Three ten-round steel magazines with alloy base pads are included, along with a 1913 accessory rail on the frame for a light or other attachment.
This is a purpose-built target pistol that arrives ready to compete. The adjustability built into the trigger and sights means a serious shooter can tune it without sending it out, and the all-metal construction gives it the durability to absorb sustained range use without degrading over time.
