Description
The P226-X Legion SAO is built for competitive shooters and serious range work who want a full-size metal-frame pistol that runs a single-action-only trigger without having to source aftermarket parts. The SAO configuration replaces the traditional P226 decocker with a manual safety, which means every shot fires from the same short, consistent pull rather than the longer, heavier first shot of a DA/SA system. That consistency is the core reason a competition-oriented shooter chooses SAO: split times tighten when trigger feel is identical from round one onward.
SIG pairs that trigger with the AX1 adjustable mechanism, letting the shooter dial in pre-travel and over-travel to match their technique rather than adapting to a fixed factory setup. The X-Series frame brings an undercut trigger guard and aggressive front strap checkering, which together shift the hand higher on the grip and reduce muzzle flip under rapid fire. G10 grips with a Legion medallion add texture without the hand fatigue that comes from overly sharp patterns.
The included ROMEO-X optic mounts via SIG’s own SIG LOC system, a dedicated attachment interface machined into the slide that creates a tighter mechanical lock-up than a standard plate-adapter arrangement. The optic sits low enough that X-Ray3 Day/Night iron sights remain usable for a true co-witness, so the shooter has a backup that doesn’t require removing the optic or adjusting their head position. Three 18-round steel magazines ship in the box, and the M1913 accessory rail accommodates lights and lasers without an adapter. The all-metal frame and slide in Legion Gray Cerakote are built to be handed down, not traded in.
