Description

The SilencerCo TOMD Compact Radial Brake is built for shooters who want a straightforward path to suppressed shooting without committing to a permanent direct-thread setup or the mechanical complexity of a latch-based mount. It threads onto a .223/5.56 barrel and from there serves double duty: it reduces felt recoil on its own, and it provides the mounting interface for SilencerCo’s TOM (Thread Over Mount) quick-detach system, giving you attachment and removal speed comparable to the ASR mount family while keeping the interface itself simple.

The radial port design vents propellant gas outward in all directions simultaneously rather than through directional ports that need to align with the bore axis. That geometry eliminates the timing step entirely — there is no clocking, no shim stack, and no iterative test-and-adjust process to get the brake sitting square. You torque it down and the installation is done. Wrench flats are machined into the body so the process is straightforward with standard tooling.

The compact footprint keeps added length and weight to a minimum compared to full-size brake designs, which matters on shorter builds where muzzle device length has a real effect on handling. The trade-off is that this is a purpose-specific device: it is designed to work within SilencerCo’s TOM ecosystem and is not cross-compatible with other mount standards. If you are already running SilencerCo suppressors or planning to, the integration is clean. If you need flexibility across multiple suppressor platforms, that is worth factoring in before you buy.
