Description
The Safariland Model 7378 7TS is an outside-the-waistband concealment holster built for the 1911 Government with a 5-inch barrel, and it suits carriers who want dependable passive retention without trading away draw speed. The core of the design is Safariland’s Automatic Locking System, which engages a mechanical lock the moment the pistol seats fully in the holster — no manual hood to close, no strap to fasten. When you establish your firing grip and sweep your thumb forward across the lever, the lock disengages and the pistol comes straight up and out unobstructed. That sequence becomes fast and consistent with practice because the release motion is part of the grip rather than a separate step.
The shell is molded from SafariSeven, Safariland’s proprietary non-marking nylon blend. The material is notably stable across temperature extremes and resists moisture, which matters for a holster worn daily against a belt in varying conditions. Raised interior stand-offs keep the gun’s surface from sitting flush against the holster wall, allowing dirt and water to shed rather than pack in around the slide. The finish is Plain Black with no texture overlay.
Attachment is handled by an included paddle and an adjustable belt loop that accommodates belts from 1.5 to 1.75 inches wide, so you can shift between carry methods without buying additional hardware. The paddle provides quick on-and-off for situations where you’re removing the holster frequently, while the belt loop gives a more anchored, lower-profile carry when concealment is the priority. This variant is cut for right-hand draw only and is not designed for use with lights or lasers mounted to the pistol.
