The cantilever design offsets the scope forward from the receiver, which matters on an AR-pattern rifle where the upper receiver’s flat-top rail often places a fixed-position mount too far rearward for comfortable eye relief with modern variable optics.

Steiner machines this mount from aluminum alloy, which keeps the assembly light while maintaining the structural rigidity needed to hold zero under sustained recoil and handling.
