Description

The Strike Industries Advanced Receiver Extension gives AR-15 builders an additional position of length-of-pull adjustment over a standard six-position carbine tube. That seventh notch matters most to shooters who find themselves caught between two positions on a conventional tube — a common issue when running a heavy coat or body armor, or when sharing a rifle among multiple users. The extra increment lets you dial in a natural cheek weld and trigger reach without having to compromise between positions.

The tube is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, which is a harder alloy than the 6061 aluminum used in many commodity buffer tubes. The tradeoff is that 7075 is more difficult to machine but holds up better under the stress concentrated at the castle nut and threads over time. Strike Industries uses a Mil-Spec outer diameter, so it works with the broad range of carbine stocks already on the market without forcing you into a proprietary fit.

Two design details address friction and reliability in ways a standard tube does not. Scalloped cuts along the tube reduce contact area between the tube and a tight-fitting stock, which makes adjustments smoother and requires less force to move the stock under field conditions. The buffer retaining tab is supported rather than cantilevered, which makes it more positive to index when assembling the lower and less prone to deflecting during buffer installation. The internal length matches a standard carbine tube, so it accepts carbine-length buffers and springs — rifle-length components will not fit.
