Description

The Strike Industries ARCH-EL is a charging handle built for shooters who find the mil-spec latch too narrow to grip cleanly under stress, when wearing gloves, or when running the rifle from the support side. The extended latch is machined from aluminum rather than steel, which matters because a steel latch contacts the aluminum receiver every time the handle is cycled. Over thousands of rounds, that repeated contact wears the receiver’s latch pocket. By matching materials, the ARCH-EL reduces that wear without sacrificing the rigidity the latch needs to hold under recoil.

The handle body is forged from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished with a hard anodize coat, giving it the density and surface hardness to handle sustained use without the weight penalty of a steel component. The latch surface is deliberately oversized to give your fingers more purchase during a fast reload or malfunction clearance, where a standard latch offers little to grip. The polished latch contact surface helps it release cleanly rather than dragging against the upper receiver during operation.

This is a direct drop-in for AR-15 pattern rifles and installs without modification or special tools. It is a straightforward upgrade for anyone who has fumbled a standard charging handle in cold weather or found the factory latch inadequate when running the rifle with a suppressor mounted and needing to keep their hand away from the muzzle end of the upper.
