Description

The Strike Industries ARCH-EL is a drop-in replacement charging handle for AR-15 rifles, aimed at shooters who find the standard mil-spec latch too small to work quickly or comfortably, particularly when running a scope or shooting from unconventional positions. The extended latch gives your fingers more surface to grip without requiring you to reach around both sides of the receiver every time you cycle the action, which matters in any situation where speed or a restricted firing position comes into play.

The body is machined from 7075-T6 forged aluminum. That specific alloy and forging process produce a part that is harder and more fatigue-resistant than cast or billet 6061 aluminum, while remaining light enough that it contributes nothing meaningful to overall rifle weight. Because aluminum is softer than the steel found in mil-spec charging handles, long-term cycling wears the upper receiver’s charging handle channel more slowly — a practical advantage on a rifle that sees high round counts.

A raised rear lip on the handle body deflects gas, debris, and lubricant that would otherwise travel straight back toward the shooter’s face during firing — a genuine functional feature rather than cosmetic shaping. The bearing surfaces are polished to keep the handle moving smoothly through the receiver under the kinds of fouling that would slow a rougher-finished part. The hardcoat anodized finish in Strike Industries’ FDE colorway provides corrosion resistance; note that this shade reads as a warmer bronze tone and does not match Magpul’s FDE exactly, so verify against your existing furniture before ordering.
