Description

The Strike Industries Gen5 Magwell is a straightforward upgrade for shooters who run a Glock 17, 22, 31, 34, 35, 45, or 47 in Generation 5 and want to take some uncertainty out of the reload. The flared funnel geometry guides the magazine into the grip under stress, reducing the chance of a bobble when your attention is elsewhere and your hands are moving fast. That benefit costs almost nothing in terms of bulk: the design stays close to the factory grip profile rather than adding a large, bulky flange, so holster fit and concealability are not meaningfully compromised.

Installation relies on a unique locking mechanism and a set screw. One important note from the manufacturer: do not overtighten the set screw. Excess torque pulls the magwell out of alignment and can damage both the part and the frame, so snug is correct and tight is not. The magwell is compatible with the factory Glock plus-zero backstrap. If you are running one of the larger factory backstraps or an aftermarket unit, the screw assembly occupies the anchor point those backstraps rely on, so they will not seat properly alongside this magwell. Worth accounting for before you order if your grip setup includes anything beyond the standard strap. The polymer construction keeps weight negligible, and the part works with Gen5 frames both with and without the half-moon grip cutout.
