Every ounce matters on a lightweight AR build, and the pivot and takedown pins are an overlooked place to recover some of that weight. Strike Industries’ Ultra Light Pivot and Takedown Pins replace the standard steel pins with components precision CNC machined from billet 7075 aluminum — the same aircraft-grade alloy used in demanding structural applications — so the savings come without sacrificing the durability needed to withstand repeated upper and lower separation cycles.

The design carries over the extended grasping surface from Strike Industries’ EPTP line, which makes field takedown noticeably faster than manipulating a flush-seated mil-spec pin, particularly with gloves on or in low light. The extended profile gives your thumb or finger a positive purchase instead of relying on a tool or a fingernail edge. Both the pivot and takedown pins are included in the set, so you replace the full pair rather than mixing materials between the two positions.

The black anodized colorline finish is applied directly to the aluminum, not painted over it, which keeps the surface hardness consistent and resistant to wear at the contact points where pins see the most friction. These are made for AR-15 style lowers and seat against standard lower receiver geometry without modification. One note from the manufacturer: due to the extended length of these pins, they are not compatible with PDW-style stocks or stabilizers that use internal slide rods, where the pin body can interfere with the mechanism.
