Description

The factory trigger in a Weatherby Vanguard or Howa 1500 gets the rifle out the door, but it rarely reflects what the action is capable of. Timney’s 611 is a direct replacement that addresses the most common accuracy complaint on these platforms without requiring gunsmithing: a heavy, inconsistent pull that masks what would otherwise be a very accurate bolt gun.

The housing is a lightweight alloy unit with working parts that are EDM machined, then hardened and polished. EDM cutting produces extremely precise geometry without the heat stress of conventional machining, which matters for the small sear surfaces that determine how cleanly a trigger breaks. The trigger pull is adjustable between 1.5 and 4 pounds, and ships set at 3 pounds from the factory — a weight suited to field use without being so light it raises handling concerns. There is no overtravel adjustment on this model, so what you get is a clean break and a fixed stop.

The safety is a three-position design: fire, safe with bolt lock, and safe without bolt lock. The bolt-lock position lets you open and close the action while the rifle stays on safe, which is a meaningful convenience during a hunt or at the range. Howa 1500 owners should note that the bolt-lock position is not used on that platform; the included instructions explain the straightforward modification to accommodate it. Minor fitting may also be required depending on the specific rifle. One variant of the Howa 1500 is not directly compatible, though Timney can modify the trigger to fit if that situation arises.
