Description

The TriggerTech AR Safety is designed for AR-platform shooters who want precise, repeatable selector movement without the compromises that come with standard mil-spec parts. The tumbler is machined from 440C stainless steel and coated with DLC — Diamond-like Carbon — which reduces friction at the engagement surface and resists wear over sustained use. The result is a selector that moves without the gritty, inconsistent feel common to uncoated steel-on-steel interfaces.

The detent uses a silicon nitride ball tip rather than a conventional steel point. Silicon nitride is an extremely hard ceramic material with a very low coefficient of friction, which means the detent transitions from safe to fire with a smooth, consistent arc rather than a sharp, scratchy snap. Whether that quality reads as a feature or a trade-off depends on what you prefer: shooters who want a crisp mechanical click may find the feel unfamiliar, while those who prioritize low-effort, consistent actuation will appreciate the reduced resistance.

The safety is ambidextrous and ships with both short and long levers, along with a fill cap so it can be run single-sided if preferred. The throw is field-configurable between 45 degrees and 90 degrees without specialized tools. The patented tumbler design allows the safety to be removed and reinstalled without pulling the pistol grip, which meaningfully simplifies trigger swaps and routine cleaning. The levers are constructed from 17-4 stainless steel and finished in PVD black, which provides a hard, corrosion-resistant surface that matches the DLC-coated tumbler in durability.
