The TriggerTech Competitive is a two-stage drop-in trigger built for AR-15 shooters who want a lighter, more deliberate pull without sacrificing reliability — whether that’s for 3-gun competition, precision rifle work, or demanding field conditions. The fixed 3.5-lb total pull is divided between a 0.75-lb first stage that gives you a clear wall to settle against, and a 2.75-lb second stage that breaks cleanly without dragging through any creep. That zero-creep characteristic is the direct result of TriggerTech’s Frictionless Release Technology, which removes sliding friction from the key engagement surfaces entirely. Because the break relies on geometry rather than lubrication or polishing, pull consistency holds up through extended round counts and doesn’t degrade as coatings wear.

The two-stage action is designed to behave like a 1911 trigger — short take-up, a defined stop, then a clean break — which suits shooters who want conscious control of exactly when the shot fires. Overtravel is kept under 0.015 inches to minimize muzzle disturbance after the break, and reset comes in under 0.030 inches with a tactile mid-force bump, so follow-up shots don’t require guesswork. Hammer strike force is maintained at full mil-spec levels, meaning the reduced pull weight doesn’t come at the expense of reliable primer ignition. The housing is machined from 7075 aluminum with an anodized finish, internal components are 440C stainless steel, and the external surfaces carry a PVD Black coating — Physical Vapor Deposition, a hard process-applied finish rather than paint or bluing. The curved trigger bow fits standard mil-spec 0.154-inch trigger pins and installs as a self-contained drop-in unit. Trigger pins are not included.
