Description
The Walker’s Boomies are passive earmuffs built specifically for toddlers, sized and shaped for the smaller head dimensions of children ages one through three. Most adult and youth hearing protection is scaled down from adult designs and still fits poorly on a toddler’s head, sliding off at the first sideways look or refusing to seat properly over small ears. The Boomies are engineered from the start for that age group, so the headband tension and cup spacing match a toddler’s proportions rather than working against them.
The passive design matters here. No electronics, no batteries, no switches for a one-year-old to fidget with and disable mid-session. The 23 dB NRR rating is delivered purely through the seal and cup construction, which means nothing needs to be charged or replaced for the muffs to work every time they go on. That rating puts meaningful attenuation on impulsive gunfire noise, which is the primary concern when a young child is present at any shooting environment.
The Royal Plum finish does practical work beyond aesthetics. A distinctively colored piece of hearing protection is easier to locate in a range bag or spot in a crowd than a black or gray one, which matters when you’re managing a toddler and gear simultaneously. The secure fit is designed to stay in place through the head movement and general restlessness typical of that age range, reducing the need to constantly reseat the muffs during a range visit.
