The Walker’s Razor Electronic Muff in Carbon is a hearing protection option built for shooters who spend meaningful time at the range or in the field and need amplification and suppression in the same package. The earcups sit unusually low-profile, which matters when you’re mounting a rifle and cheek-welding — a tall muff pushes the stock away from your face or forces you to compromise your position.

Two omnidirectional microphones pick up ambient sound and run it through a circuit tuned for natural frequency response, so normal conversation and range commands come through clearly rather than sounding processed or tinny. When a shot breaks, sound-activated compression engages in roughly 0.02 seconds, cutting the signal before the report can transmit as a harmful impulse. That reaction time is fast enough that you hear the shot start and then hear silence rather than a muffled wall of noise. The noise reduction rating of 23 dB handles the majority of common centerfire cartridges at indoor and outdoor ranges.

The housing uses a sound-dampening composite construction with a rubberized exterior, and the headband runs a metal wire frame inside a padded shell — a combination that holds its shape under the compression cycles of being folded and packed. The folding design itself keeps the muff compact in a range bag. An audio input jack allows connection to a radio or phone, and the recessed volume knob on the external battery door resists accidental adjustment. Power comes from two AAA batteries included in the box.
