The Walker’s Razor Slim Patriot Series electronic muff is built for shooters who need reliable hearing protection without bulk getting in the way of their cheek weld or range of motion. The ultra low-profile ear cups sit close to the head, which matters practically when you are mounting a rifle — a thick cup can push the stock away from your face and disrupt a consistent sight picture. These are designed to avoid that problem.

The electronic system uses two hi-gain microphones to pick up and amplify ambient sound, including voices and range commands, so you are not cut off from what is happening around you while wearing them. When a gunshot or other impulse noise occurs, the amplification circuit shuts off almost instantly — the attack time is 0.02 seconds — compressing the blast before it reaches your ears. This is a fundamentally different experience from passive foam plugs, which block everything equally and leave you isolated. The NRR 23 rating reflects the passive attenuation the cups provide when the electronics are active.

The housing is made from a sound-dampening composite with a rubberized exterior coating, which serves two purposes: it protects the internal electronics from impact, and it reduces the noise that transfers through the cup when the muff makes contact with a stock or sling. The headband is a padded metal wire frame that folds down, making the muffs compact enough to stow in a bag without taking up much space. An auxiliary input jack lets you connect a phone or other audio source. This FDE variant includes two US Flag patches. Power comes from two AAA batteries, which are included.
