Description

The Wilson Combat EDC X9 2.0 4″ is built for shooters who need a high-capacity pistol compact enough to carry concealed but capable enough to serve as a primary defensive handgun. It is not a range toy trimmed down for pocket carry — it is a full-featured single-action pistol whose aluminum X-Frame simply packages that capability into a smaller envelope than a full-size 1911 or double-stack service pistol.

The frame is machined from aluminum and fitted with what Wilson Combat calls Reliability Enhanced frame rails, which are intended to maintain consistent slide-to-frame fit over a service life of hard use. The X-TAC treatment on the frontstrap and backstrap — a series of aggressive, pointed serrations — gives a purchase under recoil without requiring stippling or grip tape. The G10 Starburst grips with Pewter medallions continue that theme: a texture aggressive enough to be functional, finished well enough to carry daily.

The 4-inch stainless Cone barrel uses a reliability-enhancing lock-up geometry and a flush-cut reverse crown. The chamber and barrel are both fluted, which reduces contact surface and makes the barrel easier to clean. A fluted chamber in particular tends to aid extraction under adverse conditions by allowing combustion gases to push the case away from the chamber walls before the extractor pulls. The Tri-Top slide carries 30 LPI serrations across the top and 40 LPI at the rear cocking serrations, and the heavy machine chamfer at the slide’s bottom edge eases reholstering.

Wilson Combat’s Bullet Proof hammer, thumb safety, and magazine release are drop-in components machined to closer tolerances than the MIM parts common on production pistols. The trigger is set to break between 3.5 and 4.5 pounds with a lightweight medium pad — consistent enough for precise work, light enough not to penalize a shooter under stress. The Battlesight rear and fiber-optic front sight combination gives a clear, fast sight picture in daylight without sacrificing the rear sight’s adjustability.
