The Wilson Combat NULA Model 20 is a purpose-built mountain and backcountry hunting rifle — compact enough to carry all day in steep country, accurate enough that you won’t wish you’d brought something else. It’s aimed at the hunter who has already worked through several rifles and arrived at some firm conclusions about what matters when the pack is heavy and the shot comes at an inconvenient moment.

The carbon fiber stock keeps the system light without sacrificing the rigid bedding platform a bolt gun needs for consistent accuracy. Wilson Combat’s Canyon Rogue Armor-Tuff finish on the stock is designed to shed moisture and resist the kind of contact damage that accumulates over a season in real field conditions, rather than a range locker. The metal surfaces share the same Armor-Tuff treatment, giving the rifle a unified resistance to corrosion without adding the weight of a traditional blued or stainless finish.

The 1-in-9 twist rate is well suited to the mid-weight .243 Winchester projectiles that most hunters reach for — bullets in the 80 to 100 grain range stabilize reliably at that rate, keeping your ammunition options practical rather than narrow. The 20-inch barrel gives back a modest velocity penalty compared to a 24-inch tube, but the tradeoff is a rifle that handles through brush and from a pack frame without snagging, and that balance is exactly the point of the NULA concept.

The Timney Elite Hunter trigger is fitted from the factory, which means the break you pull on day one is the break Wilson Combat intended — no follow-up trigger work required. Scope mounting uses 8-40 Torx screws, and the muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 for suppressor or muzzle device use. No sights are included; the rifle is built around optics from the start.
