The Wilson Combat NULA Model 20 is built for hunters and backcountry shooters who carry their rifle all day and need it to perform precisely when the moment comes. The design priority is weight reduction without sacrificing the structural integrity or accuracy that a serious field rifle demands. The receiver is machined from 4140 bar stock and coated in Armor-Tuff, and the bolt is cut from 4340 steel with a Nickel Boron finish — both chosen for toughness and corrosion resistance in conditions where a rifle sees rain, brush, and temperature swings rather than a controlled range.

The carbon fiber stock from AG Composites, in Kodiak Rogue — a pattern suited to forest environments — is central to keeping the overall weight under five and a half pounds. That carry weight matters on a long ridge or a multi-day pack hunt in a way it simply does not in a blind or a bench. The Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad is a practical counterweight to that light platform: less rifle mass means more felt recoil, and the pad absorbs a meaningful portion of it.

The 1-in-8 twist rate stabilizes the heavier, high-ballistic-coefficient projectiles that make 6.5 Creedmoor genuinely useful at distance — bullets in the 130–147 grain range seat well with this twist and represent the round’s practical strength for both hunting and precision work. The 20-inch barrel threads at 5/8×24, which accommodates most common muzzle devices. The Timney Elite Hunter trigger breaks between 2.75 and 3.25 pounds, clean enough for precise field shots without being fragile to carry. There are no iron sights included, so a scope mount is required from the start; the receiver is drilled for 8-40 Torx scope base screws.
