Description

Wilson Combat’s Competition Match Trigger has been a staple of the 1911 aftermarket for decades, and the current version reflects the refinements that come from that kind of long production history. It is built for shooters who want a cleaner, more adjustable trigger than a factory unit provides without commissioning a full custom job.

The bow is cut from stainless steel and given a polished finish, which reduces friction through the trigger’s travel and keeps the pull consistent over a wide range of conditions. Built into the bow are pre-travel adjustment tabs that let a gunsmith or experienced shooter dial in the amount of take-up before sear break — a useful feature when fitting a trigger to a specific action or shooting discipline.

The pad is machined from aluminum, which keeps weight below most factory steel triggers. That lower mass matters at the moment of hammer fall: a lighter trigger body is less likely to bounce back and contact the sear surfaces under recoil, a small but real source of wear in high-volume use. The pad carries a matte finish and a three-hole serrated face, and it is drilled and tapped for an overtravel set screw so you can limit rearward movement after the shot breaks.

Fitting requirements vary by pistol. Most production 1911s will accept this trigger with minimal material removal, though some frame fitting should be expected — particularly on tighter-spec guns. The long-pad geometry suits shooters with average to longer finger reach to the trigger face.
