Description

The B5 Systems Type 22 P-Grip is a direct replacement for the standard A2 pistol grip on AR-platform rifles, built for shooters who find the A2’s angle and geometry a poor fit for their hand position or trigger technique. The core design change is the increased vertical grip angle, which shifts the wrist into a more upright orientation. That geometry makes it easier to keep the trigger finger indexed straight along the frame when not firing, and it tends to reduce the rotational torque the wrist has to manage under recoil.

The grip omits the backstrap entirely, which is a deliberate trade-off rather than a cost reduction. Without the backstrap, the web of the hand sits noticeably higher on the grip, giving the palm more contact area against the grip body itself. Shooters who run gloves or who have found backstrap-equipped grips push their hand into an awkward position will notice the difference immediately. The aggressive texturing across the grip surface reinforces that contact without relying on squeeze pressure alone.

Construction is polymer, consistent with mil-spec material standards, and the grip is compatible with B5’s Battery Grip Plug, sold separately, for those who want to use the grip’s internal storage cavity. Width comes in at 1.24 inches, which keeps the profile slim enough for smaller hands without sacrificing structure. At 1.90 ounces it adds negligible weight to the build.
