Description
The Wilson Combat Tactical Trigger Unit in two-stage, heavy-duty flat configuration is built for AR-platform shooters who want a drop-in upgrade that delivers consistent, predictable performance without any tuning on their end. It fits the standard AR fire control pocket and replaces the factory trigger group without requiring adjustment screws or specialized tools.
The two-stage design gives you a defined first stage that takes up slack and lets you settle before the break, which is particularly useful when making careful shots under field conditions or on a timer where you need to know exactly where the wall is. The flat face changes the geometry of how force is applied through the pull: regardless of where your finger contacts the shoe, the leverage stays consistent, which tends to reduce unintentional lateral pressure during the press. Curved triggers reward a precise finger placement; flat triggers are more forgiving of variation.
Wilson Combat machines the trigger group from H13 tool steel and treats it with a dry film lubricant finish, which resists friction and wear without requiring wet lubrication to maintain function. The hammer geometry is specifically designed to strike reliably across a wide range of primer hardness levels, including military-spec and surplus ammunition. A 1911-style half-cock notch is built into the design to guard against drop-induced discharge. Pull weight runs between 4.5 and 5 pounds straight from the box — no break-in period required to reach that range.
One compatibility note worth knowing before ordering: Colt commercial rifles produced between 1991 and 2009 used a proprietary .169-inch trigger pin diameter that will not accept this unit, and Colt rifles with pinned-in sears are also incompatible.
