Description
The YHM sRx Flash Hider (Long) is built for shooters who plan to run a suppressor on their rifle and want a mounting solution that stays out of the way. It functions as the host-side half of YHM’s sRx system: the flash hider threads onto your barrel, and the sRx Adapter (YHM-4400, sold separately) attaches to any suppressor threaded to the industry-standard 1-3/8″×24 hub. That split-function approach keeps the muzzle device itself compact and light while still providing a repeatable, tool-free interface between host and suppressor.
The locking geometry relies on an internal taper positioned ahead of the threads. When the suppressor is seated, that taper draws the two components together under load and forms a gas seal before any thread engagement takes place, which means combustion gases and carbon fouling cannot migrate back onto the threads during a firing session. Keeping the threads clean also makes removal more consistent over time. Because the taper itself controls alignment, there is no shimming or timing required during installation — the flash hider torques straight to the barrel without needing to be clocked to a specific position.
Construction is 4140 steel with a Black Phosphate finish, a combination that handles heat cycling well and resists surface corrosion without adding meaningful weight. The 1/2″-28 thread pattern suits the .223 Rem/5.56 NATO platform directly. Torque the device to between 20 and 30 ft-lbs at installation. This is the long variant; YHM also offers a short version if overall length is a priority, though the long configuration provides additional flash suppression surface ahead of the muzzle.
