Description
The Mini Phantom QD Muzzle Brake is built for shooters who run a suppressor-capable 9mm platform but want a muzzle device that earns its place even when the can stays home. YHM designed it specifically to function as a genuine brake unsuppressed — not merely a mounting surface — so the added weight and length are working for you in both configurations.
The quick-detach interface is the core of what this brake does differently from a direct-thread device. It allows the suppressor to mount and lock without disturbing barrel timing, which is why the brake ships with a shim set: you dial in the orientation once, and from that point forward attachment and removal are repeatable and consistent. That matters on a pistol-caliber build where the muzzle device is cycling on and off between range sessions.
At 1.6 inches long and machined from 4140 steel with a Black Oxide finish, the brake keeps the overall profile compact without moving to lighter materials that would sacrifice durability under sustained fire. The 1/2″-28 thread pitch is the standard for 9mm barrels, so fitment on most domestic 9mm rifles and pistols is straightforward. YHM specifies a torque range of 20 to 30 ft-lbs for installation, a tighter window than a simple snug-and-mark approach, so a torque wrench is the right tool here rather than guesswork. The brake is manufactured in the United States.
