When your suppressor is off the rifle, the Yankee Hill Machine Phantom Q.D. Flash Hider gives the muzzle somewhere useful to be — actively reducing the flash signature rather than sitting capped and dormant. That dual-purpose logic is the point of the Q.D. system: the same muzzle device that manages flash on a bare rifle also serves as the mounting platform when you thread a compatible suppressor into place, so there is no swapping between a standalone flash hider and a separate mount.

The attachment mechanism uses YHM’s Phantom Q.D. Adapter (YHM-3060), which interfaces with any 1 3/8″-24 HUB-capable suppressor in the current Phantom lineup — including the Fat Cat, Turbo T3, Turbo K-RB, Resonator R2, Resonator RK, R9, and R45. This makes the flash hider the practical foundation for running one suppressor across multiple host rifles: fit each rifle with its own YHM-4302-24A and the suppressor transfers between them without tools or adapters beyond the Q.D. mechanism itself. The 5/8″-24 thread pitch matches standard .30-caliber host barrels.

Construction is 4140 steel with a Black Oxide finish, which keeps weight modest without sacrificing the durability a device sees at the muzzle. YHM specifies a torque range of 20 to 30 ft-lbs during installation and is explicit that crush washers and peel washers are incompatible with this device — timing it correctly without them is the one thing to get right before the first round goes downrange. At 2.6 inches long, it adds minimal overall length to the host firearm.
