Description

The YHM Short sRx Brake is built for the shooter who wants a clean, suppressor-ready muzzle device without the usual compromises in profile or installation complexity. It mounts to 11/16″x24 tpi threads—the pitch commonly found on .308/7.62 NATO barrels—and once seated, it requires no timing or shimming. That matters because most brakes must be clocked to a precise rotational position to avoid directing gas ports toward the shooter; the sRx system eliminates that step entirely through a large internal taper that pulls the device into a consistent, repeatable position every time.

The brake is designed as the barrel-side half of the YHM sRx system, and it must be paired with a compatible sRx Adapter to accept a suppressor. The mating interface uses the industry-standard 1-3/8″x24 HUB thread pattern on the suppressor side. A taper seal located ahead of the barrel threads locks the suppressor in place and isolates the threads from combustion gases and carbon during firing, which keeps the interface clean and prevents the thread galling that can make removal difficult after extended use. There are no moving parts involved in the lock-up.

The short configuration adds 1.675 inches to barrel length on barrels with 0.6-inch thread sections, keeping the overall package compact for those running a suppressor where total host length is a concern. The body is machined from 4140 steel and finished in Black Phosphate, which provides corrosion resistance suited to the heat and fouling environment at the muzzle. Compatible suppressors include the YHM Fat Cat and YHM Cat’s Ass.
