Description

The YHM sRx Short Flash Hider is built for shooters who run a suppressor regularly and want a mounting system that prioritizes a clean, low-profile profile over bulk. Rather than relying on springs, levers, or friction rings, the sRx design centers on an internal taper that seats the suppressor’s mating hub against a precision-machined cone before engaging threads. That taper does two things: it self-indexes the suppressor so no shimming or timing to the barrel is required, and it forms a seal that keeps carbon fouling off the engagement threads, making removal easier after extended fire.

This flash hider is not a standalone muzzle device in the traditional sense. It functions as the barrel-side anchor for the YHM sRx system, pairing with the YHM sRx Adapter (YHM-4400) to complete the quick-detach interface. The 11/16″-24 thread pattern on this variant is sized for .308/7.62 NATO barrels, where bore diameter and gas volume demand a more robust thread engagement than the smaller pitches used on 5.56 platforms. The body is machined from 4140 steel and finished in Black Phosphate, which offers corrosion resistance and handles the heat cycling that comes with suppressed fire.

At 1.8125 inches overall, the device adds approximately 1.175 inches of visible length to the muzzle on a barrel with standard 0.6-inch thread exposure — a meaningful distinction for anyone building around a specific overall length. Weight comes in at 1.504 ounces, keeping the muzzle-heavy feel that plagues larger quick-detach interfaces largely in check.
