Description
The Yankee Hill Machine Sidewinder Direct Thread Adapter converts any Sidewinder or Sidewinder M2 suppressor from its standard piston-driven mount to a fixed, direct-thread connection. That matters when your host is a fixed-barrel firearm — a pistol-caliber carbine, a fixed-barrel pistol — where the barrel doesn’t move and a Nielsen booster piston would serve no purpose. Swapping to direct thread eliminates the spring and piston from the equation entirely, giving you a more rigid, repeatable mount every time the suppressor goes on.
The adapter threads onto your barrel’s muzzle and replaces the spring retainer, spring, and piston as a single unit. On a 5/8″-24 host — common on larger-bore pistol-caliber carbines — it seats the suppressor directly against the muzzle with no intermediate movement. That rigidity can improve point-of-impact consistency compared to running a booster on a platform that doesn’t need one.
YHM machines this adapter from 17-4 PH stainless steel, a precipitation-hardened alloy chosen for its combination of corrosion resistance and strength under the cyclic stress of suppressor use. The Black Oxide finish keeps the external profile low-profile without adding meaningful thickness. At just over three-eighths of an inch in length, it adds almost nothing to the overall package. Compatibility extends beyond the current Sidewinder lineup — the adapter also fits legacy Cobra M2 suppressors, making it a useful option if you’re running older YHM hardware alongside a fixed-barrel host.
