Description

Yankee Hill Machine built its reputation on AR-15 components designed and machined entirely in-house, and the YHM-110 stripped upper receiver is a straightforward expression of that approach. It is aimed at builders who want a quality starting point for a .223 Rem/5.56 NATO upper without paying for parts they already have or intend to source separately — no forward assist, no dust cover assembly included, leaving those choices to the builder.

The receiver is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, an alloy chosen for its strength-to-weight ratio in structural firearm components, and finished in Hard-Coat Anodize, which provides a hard, corrosion-resistant surface that holds up to field use better than standard anodizing. The flat-top Picatinny rail runs the full length of the top of the receiver, giving you a continuous mounting surface for optics, iron sights, or offset accessories without requiring adapters. M4-style feed ramps are cut into the receiver extension, which matters when running a barrel extension with matching ramps — the geometry promotes reliable feeding across a range of ammunition profiles, including hollow-point and soft-point loads that a standard ramp cut can occasionally hang on.

“T” markings are present on the receiver, consistent with mil-spec indexing conventions. The receiver accepts standard upper parts and mates to mil-spec lower receivers, so it fits into a conventional AR-15 parts ecosystem without fitment surprises. For the builder who wants an upper that comes out of a domestic machine shop rather than an overseas casting line, the YHM-110 is a clean, uncomplicated foundation.
