Description
The ZF-5 Essentials Package in Flat Dark Earth is built for shooters who want a full-size, close-quarters pistol with the handling characteristics of a classic roller-delayed platform modernized to current manufacturing standards. The roller-delayed blowback operating system slows the bolt’s rearward travel by mechanically coupling it to the barrel extension, which smooths the recoil impulse compared to straight blowback designs of similar size and weight — the result is a more controllable shooting cycle and less muzzle disturbance between shots.
The cold hammer forged 4150 CMV barrel is finished with an FNC coating, a ferritic nitrocarburizing process that drives carbon and nitrogen into the steel surface to produce hard, corrosion-resistant case without compromising the bore geometry that forging creates. The 8.9-inch length also supports a 13.4-inch sight radius, which is meaningfully long for a pistol and gives the fixed hooded front and adjustable four-aperture rear drum room to work — that sight radius is a practical contributor to the accuracy at distance this platform is known for. The muzzle is cut with a 3-lug interface and threaded ½×28 RH, so it accepts both quick-detach suppressors designed for that lug pattern and standard threaded accessories.
The Essentials Package ships with one 30-round steel magazine, a soft carry case, and a user manual. Trigger pull runs 6 to 8 pounds. The wide tropical forearm is an original design choice that gives a secure support-hand grip without requiring aftermarket furniture out of the box. The Flat Dark Earth finish is factory applied and coordinates with the FDE furniture throughout.
