Description

The GBRS Group Hydra V2 Mount Kit is built for shooters running an EoTech XPS who need to relocate their aiming laser or IR device forward without sacrificing a usable grip. The system addresses a specific problem on carbines with short handguards: when a full-size optic, a magnifier, and a laser occupy the same rail, something has to give — usually the shooting hand’s position. By elevating the XPS off the receiver and integrating a secondary rail section underneath, the Hydra V2 creates space on the lower handguard rail for an IR laser or illuminator, letting the shooter’s support hand move to a more natural, extended position.

The mount is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with 17-4 PH stainless steel hardware. That pairing keeps weight down while the steel fasteners resist galling and hold torque under sustained use. The anodized finish on the aluminum matches the matte character of most mil-spec components. Because the optic sits higher than a standard low-profile mount, offset holds need to be understood and practiced — this is a deliberate trade-off for the system’s core purpose, not an incidental one.

The XPS variant ships with a 1/4-inch drive T25 bit, which is the hardware specific to the EoTech interface. No additional tools are needed to mount the optic itself. The mount attaches to a standard Picatinny rail and does not require permanent modification to the host firearm.
