Description
The Shield Arms +5/+4 Magazine Extension is a straightforward capacity upgrade for shooters running OEM Glock 19 or Glock 23 magazines who want more rounds without switching to a full-size frame. Fitting the Glock 19 adds five rounds of 9mm; fitting the Glock 23 adds four rounds of .40 S&W — the difference in count comes down to case diameter, not any limitation of the extension itself.
The extension is machined from 6061 aluminum and finished with a Type 2 anodize, which keeps weight low while providing a surface hard enough to resist holster and handling wear. Index cuts along the body improve grip when stripping a magazine from a pouch under stress — a detail that matters more in a compressed draw than it might seem on a bench.
The floor plate design deserves mention because it solves a real maintenance problem: you can access the spring and follower without pulling the extension off the magazine body. On competing designs that require full disassembly for a simple cleaning, that step adds time and the risk of losing small parts. Here, routine service stays routine. The included spring carries a Shield Arms Spring for Life guarantee, and the overall unit is backed by a lifetime warranty. It fits OEM Glock magazines and is also compatible with most aftermarket flared magwells. Made in the USA.
