Description
A threaded barrel does its job only when the muzzle is protected during storage and transport. Noveske’s thread protector for the DM Slide keeps the 1/2×28 threads on your 9mm pistol barrel clean and undamaged when you’re running the gun without a muzzle device attached. Bare threads are easy to nick against a holster or a range bag, and even minor damage to the crown area of the threading can make it difficult to seat a muzzle device squarely—which matters when alignment is critical.
Noveske produces this protector to match the DM Slide directly, so fitment is specific rather than generic. That matters for a component that needs to thread on cleanly, seat flush against the barrel shoulder, and come off without binding when you’re ready to swap in something else. A thread protector that doesn’t seat properly can introduce runout at the muzzle, which creates problems downstream if you later attach a device that depends on concentricity.
At a practical level, this is a low-cost, high-consequence item. Replacing damaged threads on a pistol barrel is an involved process; keeping them covered when not in use is straightforward. If you have a Noveske DM Slide pistol and run it without a muzzle device, this is the piece that belongs on it.
