The hi-gain omnidirectional microphones pick up ambient sound from all directions, letting you hold a conversation, track movement in the field, or hear a range command without pulling the muffs off. When a shot breaks, sound-activated compression engages in 0.02 seconds, cutting the impulse noise before it reaches a harmful level. That reaction time is fast enough that the suppression feels nearly instantaneous rather than like a delayed clamp. The full dynamic range HD speakers then reproduce the environment cleanly, without the compressed, tinny quality common to entry-level electronic protection.
