Description
The REPR MKII is LWRC’s purpose-built answer to a specific problem: a short-stroke piston-driven rifle chambered for .308 / 7.62 NATO that can sustain a meaningful volume of fire without the heat and fouling accumulation that comes with a direct-impingement system in this caliber. The piston keeps propellant gases out of the receiver entirely, which means the bolt carrier runs cooler and cleaner through extended strings — a practical advantage for any shooter running this rifle hard, whether in a precision support role or as a primary defensive rifle.
The 1-in-10 twist rate is matched to the full range of standard .308 / 7.62 NATO projectiles from roughly 150 to 175 grains, giving a shooter access to the widest practical selection of factory ammunition without needing to think about stabilization trade-offs. It is not optimized for the heaviest long-range match bullets in the way that a tighter twist would be, but it is an honest all-purpose choice for a rifle that will see varied use.
LWRC fitted the REPR MKII with a Geissele two-stage trigger, which provides a short, defined first stage and a clean break — a meaningful improvement over a mil-spec single-stage in any application where the shooter is calling their shot. The B5 Systems Precision Stock adjusts for length of pull, and the LWRC Ultra Brake 4-Port muzzle brake manages the considerable impulse of .308 by redirecting gases laterally and rearward. LWRC Skirmish Back-Up Sights come installed, so the rifle is ready to run without additional investment in an aiming solution. The ambidextrous control layout accommodates left- and right-handed operation without modification.
