Description
This is the factory Mossberg magazine for the 715, 715T, and 715SP series — the right choice when you want to keep a spare that feeds exactly as the rifle was designed to feed, without adapting aftermarket geometry to a platform with its own follower and feed-lip dimensions. The 25-round capacity means fewer pauses during a plinking session or a structured rimfire training course, and the detachable design lets you run drills that involve full magazine changes rather than topping off from a fixed box.
The body and follower are injection-molded polymer, which keeps weight low and resists the corrosion that can affect steel components when .22 LR’s waxy lubricant breaks down over time. The follower is high-visibility, so you can see at a glance when the magazine is running dry without counting rounds or waiting for the bolt to lock back. Inside, a high-tensile steel spring maintains consistent upward pressure across the full stack, which matters for a rimfire cartridge: the rim geometry demands reliable, repeatable alignment to avoid nose-dives and misfeeds, and spring tension that degrades at the top of the stack is a common source of malfunctions in high-capacity rimfire magazines.
A one-piece loading tool ships with the magazine. Thumbing 25 rounds of .22 LR into a stiff new spring by hand is slow and hard on the thumb; the loader removes that friction so you spend range time shooting rather than loading. For anyone running multiple magazines through a 715-series rifle in a single session, that inclusion is practical rather than cosmetic.
