Description

The AD-Recon is American Defense Manufacturing’s cantilever scope mount, built for shooters who need a repeatable quick-detach solution on a Picatinny rail. The one-piece design positions the scope with a 2-inch forward offset, which recovers the eye relief that a receiver-mounted ring setup would sacrifice on an AR-pattern rifle — particularly relevant when running a scope with a shorter eye relief window.

The mount uses ADM’s Auto Lock lever system, a cam-actuated mechanism with a spring-loaded adjuster that takes up tolerance as the lever closes. Because it self-adjusts to the rail rather than relying on a fixed clamping force, it seats correctly on rails that deviate slightly from Picatinny spec, and it returns to the same registration point each time it is reinstalled. That is the functional argument for a QD mount over a conventional clamping ring: not convenience alone, but documented return to zero when the optic is removed and refitted.

The Tactical lever variant differs from the Standard lever in geometry — a teardrop extension at the rear of the lever provides a more positive grip surface for actuation, which matters in gloves or under time pressure. The 34mm bore accommodates the larger tube diameter now common on full-featured LPVOs and higher-magnification rifle scopes. Construction is 6061-T6 aluminum with a Type III hardcoat anodized finish in black. A single-piece design eliminates the ring alignment step required when using separate rings, and the integrated mounting feet span the rail without requiring any additional hardware.
