Description

The Arisaka Defense MMA40 is a 40-degree offset M-LOK to M-LOK adapter designed for shooters who want to mount a weapon light or laser without sacrificing their primary rail space or forcing an awkward cant in their grip. By rotating the attachment point 40 degrees away from the top rail, the adapter keeps a light or laser out of the line of sight and clear of optics or magnifiers, while still positioning it close enough to the bore axis for predictable beam alignment at practical distances.

The offset angle is a deliberate compromise. A 45-degree offset is common, but the flatter 40-degree position keeps the mounted accessory tighter to the handguard, which reduces the lever-arm effect that can cause a light to shift under recoil over time. For shooters running a pressure pad or tape switch along the handguard, the angle also tends to land the body of the light in a more natural index position for the support hand.

Construction is aluminum with a black anodized finish, which resists the kind of surface corrosion that builds up on accessories handled in the field. The M-LOK interface on both ends — the adapter’s slot that accepts the handguard and the slot that receives the accessory — means installation requires no tools beyond what’s already in a standard kit, and the fit is governed by the same torque spec as any other M-LOK component. Arisaka markets this as a straightforward hardware solution rather than a system with proprietary mounting geometry, so it is compatible with any M-LOK accessory regardless of brand.
