Description

The Arisaka Defense 600 Series Light Body is a replacement housing for SureFire Scout Light M600 series weapon lights, aimed at shooters who want to reduce bulk and improve front sight clearance when mounting a Scout-style light on a handguard with 45-degree rail surfaces adjacent to the top Picatinny rail. The standard M600 body includes a Picatinny clamp mounting interface that adds width and can foul a front sight picture in certain mount configurations; this body omits that interface entirely, recovering the clearance that the factory housing sacrifices.

The body is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in MIL-A-8625 Type III hard coat anodize in Arisaka’s black anodized finish. Threads and the interior bore receive a MIL-DTL-5541 Type II Class 3 chemical conversion coating — commonly called chem film — which provides corrosion resistance in areas where hard anodize is impractical. High-quality Buna-N O-rings are included for environmental sealing. At 0.6 oz, the body adds negligible weight to the light assembly.

The square lug interface and mounting holes on the underside are retained from the M600 form factor, so the body seats correctly in any aftermarket Scout mount. It accepts M600-series tailcaps and heads including the KM2C, KE2A, and KX2C, and IR heads are fully supported. Note that the M600DF head and 18650 cells are not compatible, though 16650 cells are. The light head, tailcap, and mounting screws are not included, making this a component for shooters who are modifying or building a complete light assembly rather than buying a finished unit.
