The Arisaka Defense Hand Stop is built for shooters who want a low-mass, minimal-profile way to anchor their support hand without adding bulk to a already-configured handguard. The core function is straightforward: it gives your support hand something to pull against, driving the rifle rearward into your shoulder and reducing muzzle movement under recoil. That same geometry also works as a barricade stop when you need to brace against a vertical surface, and it can be flipped to the forward end of the handguard to keep the hand from sliding off under stress or aggressive movement.

The profile is narrow enough to suit a wide range of hand sizes without crowding adjacent rail space. Where it differs from a full vertical foregrip is in intent — this is about indexed contact and retention, not wrist angle or leverage. Shooters running shorter handguards or pistol-caliber carbines with limited rail real estate will find the compact footprint practical rather than a compromise.

Arisaka machines the body from 6061-T651 aluminum and applies a MIL-A-8625 Type III hard coat anodize, which is a thicker, harder surface treatment than standard anodize and holds up better against repeated hardware contact. The attachment system uses a recoil lug that extends from inside the part itself, pulling directly against the rail cross-slot to eliminate the rattle common to simple clamp designs. The lug and its mating screw are captured, so neither component drops free when you dismount the stop. A direction indicator is CNC-engraved on the body to remove guesswork during installation. A 7/64-inch Allen wrench is all you need; maximum torque is 15 inch-pounds, and neither the wrench nor a torque tool are included.
